General Information Sno-King Agility Trials – May 3- 4, 2008
Welcome to the Sno-King Agility Club Trial – We have a very large entry – 639 runs on Saturday and 535 on Sunday.
Please NOTE – THIS IS AN OUTDOOR TRIAL. We will move indoors only in the event of a MAJOR weather event, such as a hurricane, flood or blizzard (don’t laugh – remember April 19 – 21?)! Come prepared for inclement weather, because we’ll be out in it.
Check-In and Measuring
- Check in procedure. – Armbands will be found in the binders on the table near the score table. They are in alphabetical order by handler last name. If your armband label is not in the book, that means we do not have a height card for you. You will have to show a height card or have your dog measured. We will have a Volunteer Measuring Official at the trial, as well as an AKC rep who can measure your dog for a height card if you do not have one.
Crating and Tenting –
You are welcome to set up any time after 3:00 p.m. on Friday (or after the rings and large tent have been set up.) We have a big entry, so conserve space as much as possible.
Volunteer Workers –
We really appreciate those who volunteer their time and effort to work the trial. We couldn’t do it without you! We will be using the white board system. Please volunteer if you can help, as we will be running the rings simultaneously and we will need lots of help.
Food –
We have Joan Cook’s delicious food for our volunteers. If you are not working and if there is enough food, you may partake of the provided lunch for a $5.00 donation. There may be a food vendor on site.
Camping
– If you are planning on camping, or staying in an RV, you must contact Terri Kaluza at Argus, allpets@skynetbb.com RVs are by pre-reservation only.
Move-Ups
– We will be allowing Saturday/Sunday move-ups. Move-ups must be in no later than 30 minutes after the trial concludes on Saturday.
Directions to the Trial
From I-5 North or South
. Take the Auburn exit (Highway 18) Exit to Auburn-Black Diamond Road eastbound. Turn right immediately onto SE Green Valley Road (just past Neely Mansion). Go approx 7.5 miles. Turn right onto 212th Avenue SE (just after the green bridge sitting on dry land on your right). Take first left just after crossing river into Argus. The arena will be straight ahead.
From I-405 Southbound. Go south on Maple Valley Highway (Highway 169), into Black Diamond. Turn right on Roberts Road (look for Coal Car). Go approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto 218th Street. At the bottom of the long hill is a stop sign. Go straight across the bridge at the Green River and take the first left into Argus Ranch driveway or the second left into the field.
Walk Throughs and Conflicts
-- because of the tight scheduling and the FAST class, there may be some conflicts. Please walk your course when you can, even though it may not be your jump height’s turn to walk. Please refer to the attached schedule for walk through information. There will be no “mass obsession” (general walk through) for the Excellent class. Each jump height will have a timed walk through as indicated on the schedule. A lot of effort has gone into trying to make sure that handlers with multiple dogs have their dogs adequately separated. Unless you have a conflict with another ring (different class or different jump height) please do not move your dog in the running order. If it looks like you may have a conflict, please indicate on the gate sheet with a “C”. You may need to walk with one of the other jump heights besides your own and you may have to walk JWW before you run Std or vice versa. We will accommodate legitimate conflicts, but there will be no “private walk throughs”.
Fenced Exercise Area
s – As per AKC regulations, dogs must be on leash at all time except in the ring or in one of the fenced exercise areas. There are two fenced exercise areas. If you want to throw a ball or Frisbee for your dog, please use the back fenced paddock (the one closer to the field). The front fenced paddock is reserved for dogs needing to be pottied before their runs. It is very intimidating and threatening to handlers with small dogs to have large dogs charging around after balls and Frisbees while they are trying to potty their dogs.
